Passed away with family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Sunday, November 6th, 2016 in his 56th year. Dearly beloved husband of Jamie for 22 years. Loving father of Chyna Catherine Lynn and Mathew Edward. Dear son of Ethel and the late Donald Mercer. Brother of Wayne (Joan) and Carol Jefferies (Tom). Will be missed by his nephews, Daryl, JR, and Adam. Rick will be forever remembered for his passion of life and his family. A Celebration of Life service will take place at the COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL 1587 Highway 2, Courtice (905-432-8484) with visitation on Thursday, November 10th, 2016 from 10 am until time of service in the chapel at 11 am.
