Passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on February 02, 2021. Rose was the beloved wife and life partner of Jim Planeta for 65 years - his soul mate and travel partner. They built a fulfilling and happy life together residing in the home they built together in Courtice for the past 48 years. She was a longtime member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Courtice.

Rose and Jim have two daughters Joanne (Raymond) from Hampton and Basia (Brett) from Texas. She was always delighted by the antics of her grandchildren and found a lot of joy and pride in their lives and the people they became. She will be missed by her grandchildren Mark (Lindsey), Greg (Becky), Briana (Michael), Meredith (Matt), Courtney and Evan. In later years she cherished her eight great grandchildren. Rose was a Registered Nurse at Oshawa General Hospital in labour and delivery for 40 years, bringing new life to the world which she loved. She loved to garden at their home and was very artistic. She especially enjoyed her knitting group at the church, knitting items for various causes. She loved their cottage on Papineau Lake and seeing the joy we all got from it. Her large and loving family was very important to her and all her nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered for her caring and compassion to all in her life.

Joanne, Raymond and families, we were sad to hear of the passing of your Mom. I only met her a few times and it was many, many years ago. She seemed to be a happy, thoughtful person, who almost always had good advice.
I’m sure you will have many great memories to share when you are all together. Darrell and Louise Knox

My sincerest sympathy to Rose's family. I worked with Rose in L&D when I first came to Oshawa, and she was always really delightful and kind. I am so sad to hear of her passing.

Sending sincere condolences to the family. I have some of Rose's beautiful bags that she made for my Mum, Rene and me too. Mum worked with Rose at OGH in L&D. I was glad that Rose introduced me to Basia and her family many years ago. It was a great experience to get to know them all.
Rose was so friendly and always interested in hearing our news and sharing hers too. Her talent was amazing, as was her warm kindness. I know my Mum enjoyed their friendship. So sorry for your family's loss, may memories of her warmth and love sustain you.

I had the pleasure of meeting "Gram" through Mark and Greg growing up. she welcomed me into her house, cottage and life as if I was a part of the family. I'll always cherish the way she could warm a room with her cooking and smile.

you'll be missed but never forgotten

Our dear Ciocia Rose will be missed, but never forgotten. I have so many fond memories of her kindness, generosity, & sense of humour. Four generations of her family have blankets, hats, slippers, baby bibs, scarves, & many other hand made items either knitted, crocheted or sewn. These are so cherished! And nothing ever slowed Ciocia Rose down. She always visited my parents (& brought fresh made soups, pickles, relish & sweets), and she was always up for a day trip to visit family in Buffalo or Meaford. Rest In Peace, Ciocia.

We heard the news of Rose’s passing today while watching Mass and were so saddened. Rose was our church “grandma” (she told my boys to call her Baba) for many years. She always stopped by our pew after Mass and doted on the boys, and rarely a week went by that she didn’t have a treat for them. She was always interested in their school and sports and even attended a soccer game or two!
She talked so lovingly of her family (her husband, daughters and their families). Rose will be missed by our family and I will think of her whenever I eat fresh blueberries. She will always be remembered in our prayers.

Gram, you will be missed! Having a grandmother like her was an amazing part of the 40 years of my life. From always having the best food to fitting us out with hand knitted scarfs and hats. You and Dzia built the family cottage which will provide generations of amazing family memories and fun. Growing up and going to there house overlooking the creek was how we were hooked into fishing. The custom built home with a hot tub, sauna and pool table in the basement has given me and Lindsey the aspiration to have this ourselves which we are in the middle of building. She was a person who never ever got mad or angry with us growing up which is a rare quality, I actually never saw her mad ever! If people can live the life you and Dzia have lived they should have consider there life a life well lived with great success, you will be missed.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Rose as part of the knitting ladies. Great sense of humour and always ready to lend a helping hand. Will miss her when we get back to our knitting group.
