KEEN, Thomas “Tom” It is with deep regret and great sadness that the family of Thomas Murray Keen announce that he passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, November 20th, at the age of 62 years. Tom is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife Marlene and his children, Rachel, Kirsten, Gregory, Ben (Michelle), Patrick and Kaitlin. Tom is survived by his siblings Alex (Nonie), Cindy (Don), Ron, Janet (Don), Earl (Donna), and Jamie. He is also survived by Jennifer (the late Mike), Steven (Helen) and Teresa (Trent). Tom is very fondly remembered by his many loving nephews, nieces, extended family and all of his friends that he has made along the way. Tom was born in Woodbridge, Ontario on March 26th 1957 to Robert and Phyllis Keen. In his early years, Tom loved scouting, friendly competition and banter with his many siblings and friends. Tom played and coached his children in soccer, baseball and especially hockey (known for that sneaky wrist shot). Tom was the epitome of kindness and was a true handyman. He was known to drive long hours to help in anyway he could. He was a person you could always rely on. Visitation will be held at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (1587 Highway #2, Courtice) 905-432-8484 on Wednesday November 27, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until time of Celebration of Life in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Tom was a regular volunteer and supporter of The Clarington Youth Centre. Dear Keen Family,

We had moved into a new subdivision in Bowmanville and a few months later the Keen's moved in as well and new friendships were started. It has been nearly 14 years since Kirsten rang our door bell to ask if there were any kids that could come out to play!... Tom and Marlene became immediate friends of mine. Tom and I shared the loss of our parents, he was a strong shoulder and ear as I went through a divorce, he assisted me in almost every project I got involved with and he was a FRIEND! Days of joining him and Marlene by the pool, going out for a coffee or drink, small (or large ) home projects he guided, my Dad's 90th birthday celebration, introducing him to my Soulmate where he saw that I was truly happy and those late night chats that only real friends could have are all the things that I will remember of Tom.

Marlene and the children are in our thoughts and prayers as we send them our deepest condolences. Tom left us all way to soon, with so much left to say and do. Someday we will understand...

Dear Marlene, Rachel, Kirsten, Greg, Ben, Patrick and Kaitlin.

We are so very sorry that we could not be there to say goodbye to our dear brother. He was a loving, gentle, funny guy who would do anything and everything for you if you asked. I don't think that "No" was in his vocabulary when it came to helping you out and a lot of times you didn't even have to ask because he would always offer first.

He loved Marlene, all his kids and family. We will always remember and miss him. God only takes the best ones first.
Love Alex and Nonie

I had the pleasure and privilege of knowing Tom for just a few short years through the youth centre in Bowmanville. He stepped right up to offer himself and his skills, in particular for our annual haunted house. He helped build some props, put on costume, took on the role of some wacky creatures for us. He dove right in and engaged with guests, and helped a whole lot of people around him to have lots of fun. This past year he and Marlene brought extra costume items to share in their scene, and took on multiple shifts to support the event. I was just looking at some pictures a few days ago of these things.. he even made Snapd newspaper during this year's event. It's such a shock to have lost this kind man whom we stood next to just a few weeks back, shared some chuckles with. We are going to miss him so much. Our thoughts are with you Marlene, Greg, and your entire family.
