I knew Bill for many years as a friend and as a colleague. He was a man of impeccable honour and he was an outstanding counsel.

Marilynn and I extend our deepest sympathy to Doreen, Lisa and all Bill's family.  Bill was a good friend from the day in 1969 when we first met - always generous with his time and ready to share a laugh or lend a helping hand. He will indeed be missed.

I was privileged to have worked with Bill when I was a young lawyer at Justice. He had hired me and over the years continued to take a personal interest in my career and in my work. I cherish those memories and remember his enthusiasm for the law and his pride in the work that we did.  I appreciated his humanity and caring, his professionalism, his willingness to share his considerable legal experience, and of course his wonderful sense of humour. Dear Doreen, Lisa and Family,

Roz, Dad and I have many wonderful memories of Uncle Bill and the freindship and support he provided our family over the years. We look back fondly on the time we spent together as families growing up together. Our thoughts are with Auntie Doreen and Lisa and the rest of the family as they say farewell to a lovely and kind man. We are sorry we cannot be with you tomorrow but we are thinking of you.

Our deepest condolences Doreen to you, Lisa Ann and John for the loss of a loving husband and father. He was a terrific neighbour these past 26 years to Mary-Anne and I, and our three boys to whom he was always provided great encouragement.  Like us, they too were very saddened by his passing.

I recall our last time together in November when we enjoyed lunch at the local pub.  He was in good form and spirits and that is how we shall remember him.  I am so glad that I was able to finally relate the event of Mary-Anne's car landing on your side lawn with our then three-year old at the wheel.  With his characteristic chuckle and thoughtful words, he saw the humour of the event and was able to graciously relieve this father's anxiety which I had harbored for years. 

Bill was a successful professional throughout his career, a respected neighbour to all of us who were lucky enough to know him and, a proud, and I am certain, dotting grandfather to Bailey Leah and Chelsea Anne whom he spoke of often to us.  He will be greatly missed.

We became good friends of Bill and Doreen through the Plummers and Bill's High School group.  We enjoyed many dances, dinners and good times with ,and he was always upbeat and full of fun.  He loved to take Doreen to Dances and do the Cha Cha with her.  We have wonderful memories of our times together and we will certainly miss him.  Bob and Dianne Godard

Unlce Bill was one of the happiest, most positive people I've ever met.  He always took an interest in my life and made a point of catching up when I saw him.  He is a hero and a role model for all Canadians, serving in one of the most honourable ways possible.  The heavens now have a new angel and they are better for it with him there.  My condolences to Lisa, Doreen, John, Bailey and Chelsea.  He will always be in your hearts and those of whom he touched.  He will be dearly missed.
