Frank Malocu

Frank L. Malocu peacefully passed away due to heart failure at the Citrus Valley Medical Center in Covina, California, Friday morning, December 2, 2011. He was 94 years of age. Born in Shenandoah PA on November 30, 1917. Frank was raised in the home of Michael and Mary Dodd-o in Hazelton, PA along with their six sons and two daughters, Frank's first cousins. He served in the U S Army during WWII as a Sergeant and was in combat in European, African, Middle East Campaigns that included Naples-Foggia, Po Valley, Rome-Arno, Sicily and Tunisia. Frank was a restaurant owner/operator in Los Angeles for many years and later worked as a chef for restaurants in the Covina area. He was a long time member of the Covina Masonic Lodge. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Anna (Telerico) Malocu, his wife Augustine Malocu, brother Anthony, sisters Mary and Rita, cousins John M. Dodd-o, James Dodd-o, Elizabeth (Dodd-o) Ligotti and Bernard Dodd-o. He is survived by his two sons, Marco Malocu, wife (Eughetta), Pierre and his wife (Laura), three grandchildren, Lucca, Sarah and Andrea Malocu. In addition, he is survived by three sisters, Louise Swan and Angeline Garner in Maryland and Jane Ward. Frank is also survived by cousins John A. Dodd-o, Madeline (Dodd-o) Scarlato, Michael E. Dodd-o and Joseph J. Dodd-o along with numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was a quiet, loving, decent human being with much concern for others and had a pleasant manner and ready smile with a great wit and sense of humor. Lovingly know as "Frankie" he was an avid baker and cook who enjoyed sharing his specialties with his friends and family. He will lovingly be remembered by his devoted nephew Richard M. Ligotti of Laguna Niguel, CA who assisted him with his care for the past five years of his life. Special thanks to Lynette Fasick Entzian, granddaughter of Frankie's sister Louise Swan. Frank's family is especially grateful to his close friends, Bob Buckner, Daniel and Myrna Munoz and Celeste Munoz for their caring friendship, help and assistance in recent years.
