Hi Marilyn;  How ironic that this will close on my birthday.  I sure do miss talking on the phone with you.  My phone hardly rings anymore now.  But I do talk to your beloved husband & daughter regularly.  I know you're with our Mom, sister & my only son.  You are in paradise.  I love & miss you so much!!!!

Grandma Marilyn had a strong personality that touched the lives of many. Her smile was always bright and her heart open. She was full of life and an inspiration to those around her. As children we made many memories at Grandma and Grandpas house from holidays and birthdays to family dinners. It was never a dull moment when the family was together at Grandma's between the talking, cooking, us kids running around, and the occasional throwing of dinner rolls, she always knew how to make us all feel at home. I did not get to spend much time with her as I got older, but she has always been dear to my heart and will be forever missed. Grandma, I know you are in heaven now, but please watch down over all of us because we don't want you to miss a thing.

Harvey and Family, my deepest sympathies to you all. Marilyn will be greatly missed. She was my closest and dearest friend for 35 years. From the first moment I met her we enjoyed a life long friendship. Marilyn loved you all. She adored her husband Harvey and was so happy to be able to be with him and enjoy their beautiful home. She was one of the most loving and caring people I have ever known. A devoted and loving wife, a wonderful and caring mother to her children. Loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with all of them. Marilyn was very outgoing and always had a way with people. She could turn your worse day into a day filled with laughter and smiles. No matter what she was going through herself, she always had time for her family and her friends. She never complained about her own trails, she carried her burdens well and never let them get the best of her. A positive outlook always. There was not a person, nor an animal that Marilyn couldn't make friends with. She loved the holidays and especially spending time with her family. She told me just days before she passed on that God had blessed her life so much and that she was thankful for every second she got to spend with her family and that she had everything she could possibly ever want or need. I will never forget the wonderful times we shared and each time I watch an old movie or happen to see the beautiful Christmas lights, I will think of her. Happy Birthday Marilyn. Rest in peace my dear friend.

God has taken My Mom to the Highest Heaven, with Love and Memories of a Wonderful Life she shared with My Father and Her Children. I Miss You Mother.

You were the best Grandma ever. Thank you for all the stuff you've given me. When we heard you died, my Mom and I were so shocked and sad, we just couldn't believe it. You were one of the Best Grandma's ever. I miss playing games and coloring with you.   LOVE ALIYAH

   Marilyn Janice Castagno, My Mother, Our Mother was married for 59 wonderful years to our Loving Dad and they lived together in their Covina Home for almost 59 years.
   My Mother loved people and tried to keep up knowing details of every ones life. She kept us informed of her Best Friend (My Aunt Dorothy) and their entire family, both her Sisters (My Aunt Arlene and Aunt Ellie) and their entire families, my Brother and Sister and their families, relatives and friends, offering advice and help in any way she could. Our Mother was religious going to Mass every Sunday, taking all 3 of us (her children) to religion classes and saying the Rosary daily. She took care of all her family needs baking, cleaning house and keeping a watchful eye on us which wasn't easy.
   Marilyn felt and was so full of Love, showing and expressing it daily to her husband and children. She said many times "How Lucky and Blessed I was to have such a wonderful Loving Husband, I could never have asked for a Better Man". Mother wasn't just saying it, she meant it; it was coming from her Heart.
   My Mother had a Great Mothers Day Weekend only 1 week earlier which reminded her and made her feel, how Truly Cherished, Loved and Special she was, by her entire Family. She will Forever be in Our Hearts and Memories Forever.
   GOD BLESS OUR DAD'S LOVING WIFE, AND OUR LOVING MOTHER!

Life comes and goes so fast in our daily busy lives until we're forced to take a break and reflect on all our precious memories, loved ones and the greatness we once all had and shared. On one side I feel anguish, sorrow, sadness, pain and hurt more than words can ever say for losing my Loving Mother. On the other I feel Happiness, Joy, Peace and Comfort knowing my Heavenly Mother is now looking down on me from Heaven, surrounded by her Mother, Father, Sister, Family and friends knowing and saying, "Live the rest of your life the way I raised, nurtured and taught you to do, so that in the future, you will also be here, right next to my side". I can picture my arms held tightly around my Mother feeling so Loved and Happy, along with the rest of my Fantastic Family when their times come. MOTHER YOU ARE THE GREATEST! I LOVE YOU XOXOXOXO

You will be greatly missed. I find comfort in knowing that Linda was there to greet you with wide open arms when you went home to heaven. I know you two are spending your time together catching up and chatting about the family. The two of you are now free to soar in heaven with your giant angel wings. What a great Mom. I am so lucky. In my eyes they should make you a Saint. On behalf of me and the family, we would like to say thank you to all of our friends and family for all of the love and support during this tragic time. I will miss hearing from you Aunt Mariyn, getting cards from you on all occasions, hearing your laugh & all the news on the Family. I'm sorry I will not be able to say my last goodbye, but Mom will be there & I will be there with you  all in spirit. I love you all!!

I was so sad when I heard about the death of Marilyn, my sister-in-law.  I do have plenty memories of our times together.  We met riding the bus together going to St. Andrew's High School. We were great friends prior to becoming her sister-in-law. We played a lot of tennis together and really had fun.  I introduced her to my brother, Harvey,  The relationship got serious and on May 1st, 1954 they were married.  She loved to talk on the phone.  I will miss her very much.

My heart is saddened by the passing of Aunt Marilyn.  I remembered the last time I spoke with her as if it was yesterday on the phone. She updated me as to the happenings of my cousins "Paul, Lynn and David".  I also shared stories of my children and their happenings.  What a great conversation we both had.  Every Christmas I would get a card sent to me from her.  I am going miss receiving them.  She always accepted me, and all my faults, "as family" and this made her very special to me.
