Paul H. Heil, 86, died peacefully in his home on the morning of Saturday, June 23, 2012. Mr. Heil was born in Elgin, Nebraska on February 6, 1926 to Jacob and Eleanor Heil. He lived in Nebraska as a young man, until he served in the Army for his country during World War II. Upon his return home, he attended Iowa State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1951. In 1954, Paul Heil married Joan Suzan Freihammer and settled in California shortly thereafter. He worked as a electrical/power engineer for 40 years at Alice Chalmers, Aerojet, and finally at Southern California Edison when he retired in 1991. Paul and Joan loved their families and friends very much and enjoyed many years of laughter and joy together as they provided a wonderful life for their four children. Paul was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Covina for 50 years. He enjoyed gardening, horse racing, traveling and stock trading, but his greatest joy was his family.
