Thelma Grace Coyle

Thelma Grace Gibson Coyle passed away at the age of 97 years on August 20th, 2013 in Upland, California. Thelma was born on September 4, 1915 in Rosendale, Missouri to Charles and Mabel Gibson. Thelma has lived in the Los Angeles area since 1955 and was a member of Christ Church of the Valley in San Dimas, California. For the past 15 years Thelma had a telephone ministry for the “Young at Heart” group that met on Thursdays. She lovingly called shut-ins and put those in need on prayer requests each week. Thelma has been an active church member wherever she lived, including Sunday School Teacher and Choir Member. Thelma retired from Pomona Public Library at the age of 62, a job that she truly loved. She is survived by her daughters, Sonnie (Jerry) Faires and Nancy (Ron) Pfaff; Daughter-in-Law Shirley Coyle; 6 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. Her husband of 67 years, J. Walter Coyle and Son Larry Walter Coyle predeceased her. The visitation will be held at Custer Christiansen Mortuary in Covina, California on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 9 am – 10 am. Services will be also at Custer Christiansen Mortuary on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 10:30 am. There will be a private graveside service following.

The family of Thelma Grace Gibson Coyle wish to thank all of her family and friends that have loved her. She is now at home in the arms of Jesus Christ her Savior for which she has longed to be and reunited with her loving husband and son.
