OBITUARY

Beatrice Patricia Arnold

December 10, 1934March 18, 2021

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Patsy Arnold, loving and devoted wife, mother, Nana, great grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on March 18, 2021. Beatrice Patricia Arnold (Patsy) passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded by her family. She was 86. Patsy was born on December 10, 1934 in Columbia, Mississippi. She met the love of her life, Robert Arnold, while they were in the seventh grade. They were together for 71 years. Their relationship was a truly magical and awe-inspiring union. She was the loving mother of Bobby Arnold (Sherry), Charles Arnold, Sr. (Michelle), and Leah Arnold Vita (Johnny). She was a proud “Nana” to Ali, Charles, Austin, William, Jessi, Jake, Jordan, Amanda and Joseph. She is a great grandmother to Drew, Jackson, Avery, Finley, Rex, Martin, and Naomi. She welcomed with open arms anyone that entered her home as if she was their mother. She was truly an angel. Patsy was preceded in death by her father William Bishop, mother Pearl, and brother Merlyn. Patsy graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and a Kappa Alpha Fraternity sweetheart. Patsy was a devout Christian and lived her life in service to others. She taught elementary school in Gretna, Louisiana. She and her husband Bob served as youth counselors at First United Methodist Church in Pensacola, Florida. Their home became a haven for many young people. Patsy and Bob sponsored children around the world and were a host family for foreign exchange students. She volunteered countless hours serving meals after Wednesday night fellowship and on religious holidays at First United Methodist and St. Timothy On the North Shore United Methodist Church in Mandeville, Louisiana. She recently sewed face masks for her church to distribute to the public during the pandemic. Patsy was a gourmet cook, skilled seamstress, and quilt maker. Some of her happiest times were cooking for large family gatherings in her home. Most of all, she loved her family and faith. She will be dearly missed and will live forever in our hearts. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. James Fitzpatrick, Rev. James Mitchell, Associate Pastor Mark Juneau, and the staff of Heart of Hospice, especially Gloria, Suzanne, and Sonya. A celebration of Patsy’s life will be held at St. Timothy on the North Shore United Methodist Church, 335 LA-3228, Mandeville, Louisiana on Wednesday morning, March 24. Visitation will begin at 10:00, and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00. A reception will follow the services. The church will provide childcare during the services and reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Timothy on the North Shore United Methodist Church. An online guestbook is available at www.gracenorthshore.com.

The video you made of them is a great treasure! I was blessed to watch and listen!
I was blessed to visit in Mrs Patsy and Mr Bob’s home at Christmas in 2009. She was a wonderful hostess and made me feel welcome! I’m glad Drew, Jackson and Avery had her as a Great-Grandmother.
I know she was a wonderful wife and Mother, and we will see her again in Heaven.
We are praying for God to comfort your family.

Mrs Patsy & Mr Bob were youth counselors at the untied Methodist Church in Pensacola where I attended MYF . I had to work to help my family at Churches Fried Chicken . Mrs patsy knew I dreaded going a lot of days and she would brighten my day when she would come by and order chicken from me for the youth group. She encouraged me to be the best at anything and I would always tell her as she was leaving kiddding around “Mrs Pat don’t the chicken belong to the church?” It sounds ridiculous but I’d laugh and laugh as she brought the chicken to the youth! She and Mr Bob always made me feel important and that I desperately needed that as a teen!
I love both Mr Bob and Mrs Pat as I saw them as one

There are not sufficient words to truly capture Nana's spirit. Her smile was always warm, her words encouraging, and her arms and home open to all. She loved without reservation and treated all like family.

For many years, summer was defined by trips to Louisiana to visit Arnold cousins and Nana's cooking. I cherish the memories of those long, hot days surrounded by laughter, love, and food with Nana at the center.

To Granddaddy, my uncles and aunts, my many cousins, my heart hurts for and with you. We love you all so much and you remain close to mind and heart. Despite the distance, we will be remembering and honoring Nana and her amazing and full life today, tomorrow, and in the days to come.

All our love,
Mallory, Brian, and Heath

Nana was one of the warmest and kindest souls you could meet. Every memory I have of her, from my earliest recollections, starts with a giant hug and a kiss and is followed by warmth, love, and laughter. She will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Granddaddy and the rest of the Arnolds. I love you all, and I love you Nana up in heaven.

Bob, Leah, Charles, Michelle - there are no words to fill the hole in your hearts right now. Patsy was larger than life. I pray soon though, her light will fill your hearts and you will be surrounded by joyful memories. Love and light to you all in your time of grief.

Sharing in your sadness as you remember a wonderful mother. Charles your parents were always such a strong force of support for you and all who knew them. From the days at First United Methodist Church in Pensacola to a long life in Mandeville your mother was full of spunk and life. I know that her strength, love and support of you, Michelle, Charlsie and William will be greatly missed. Hugs to you all!
