Davis Joseph Dupre, Jr., also known as Dave, passed away peacefully at his home on January 28, 2024, at the age of 61 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. He was born on May 15, 1962, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Kim (Simmons) Dupre, their daughter, Kristi Hebert, and his grandson, Aven Hebert, whom he affectionately called “Paw Paw’s big boy”. He will also be lovingly remembered by his mother, Carol Dupre, his siblings, Byron Dupre (Karen) and Ryan Dupre (Kasey); his nephew and godson, Brant Dupre (Kristyn), and his niece, Kaylyn Dupre.
His father, Davis Joseph Dupre, Sr., preceded him in death.
Dave grew up in St. Bernard Parish and later moved to Ponchatoula in 2005. He was a skilled fisherman, and enjoyed spending time, and trolling, on the shrimp boat that he and his father built. Dave had a green thumb and took pleasure in gardening and growing vegetables; he had a knack for fixing things, and could always be depended upon to fix anything.
A memorial service to celebrate Dave's life will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Grace Funeral Home, located at 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
