Dionysia "Donnie" Pertuit

Dionysia “Donnie” Pertuit, 78 of Covington passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on May 6, 2025. She was born on November 21, 1946 in Wichita, KS to the late Charles T. Dye Sr & Loretta Mumford Dye. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles T. Dye Jr; and sister, Loretta D. Andrews.

She was born in Wichita but the family moved to New Orleans at a young age. She graduated high school from Sacred Heart in New Orleans. Donnie met Charles J. Pertuit in New Orleans, and they married on August 14, 1969 at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Metairie. She worked for several daycare centers across the New Orleans metro area.

Donnie had a love for kids and was involved in their lives. She enjoyed going on trips and traveling to the beach and up to the mountains. Donnie had a personality like no other, and if you knew Donnie, you know how that is. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to so many. Her legacy lives on in all of us and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Donnie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Charles J. Pertuit; children, Jennifer (Trevor) Adam, Christopher Pertuit, Jason (Tiffany) Pertuit, and John Ryan Pertuit; grandson, Avery Pertuit; and sister, Elizabeth Morva. Donnie also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of friends and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Grace Funeral Home (450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA). A Catholic Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Grace Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will follow at St. Lazarus of Bethany Cemetery. Grace Funeral Home, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
