Debby was the wife of Lawrence "Larry" Chaudoir and longtime member of Northshore Jewish Congregation. She was the mother of the late Jerald M. Pomerantz, Penny L. Manakalani, Susan B. Chaudoir, and Tony Chaudoir (Amanda). Grandmother of Jadia N. L. Manakalani, Elena Torman, Victoria Chaudoir, Eva Chaudoir, and Tony L. Chaudoir. Aunt of Julie Roberts and Michelle Gleason. Sister of the late Joel M. Barez and the late Elaine Barez.
Over her 40-year career with the IRS and U.S. Postal Service, Debby thoroughly enjoyed interfacing with the public. Known for her warm smile, friendly personality, and good-natured humor, she formed lasting connections with customers, many of whom would regularly wait in her line just to catch up.
She enjoyed activities and volunteer service with different sororities and clubs in the different cities that she lived with her husband, Larry. She worked side by side with Larry and other members of the Lions Club organization in every state they lived in together, serving the last 40 years with the Mandeville Lions Club. Debby and Larry are both Melvin Jones Fellowship recipients, which honors those who have demonstrated the highest humanitarian values of Lionism. An honor that Debby was so proud to receive with her husband because actively serving the community together, who became more like family, truly meant the world to her.
When gathered around a table for cards, board games, or her favorite —mahjong—Debby was in her element. She loved looking back on a life well-lived, delighting friends with stories of meeting famous musicians, celebrities, and remarkable people from around the world who ultimately became her lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, Debby requested local donations to charities of your choice in her memory.
Visitation for Debby will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, beginning at 5:30PM, followed by a Service at 7:30PM. Debby will be laid to rest at Nicolet Memorial Park in Bay Settlement, Wisconsin, which Debby and Larry chose as their final resting place beside his family. An intimate service will be held at Good Shepherd Mausoleum on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 10:00AM.
