Frank Henry Micelle was called from his earthly Covington, LA home to his heavenly home on Sunday evening, October 4, 2026, succumbing to a massive heart attack. He was born in New Orleans, LA, on July 20,1941 to Lorraine Menzio Micelle and John Joseph Micelle. The family moved to Montgomery, AL when Frank was twelve. A natural athlete, he excelled in several sports, but football was his favorite. He quarterbacked Catholic High to an Alabama State Championship. He went to The University of Alabama making Bear Bryant’s Crimson Tide football team. He gave The Bear credit for teaching him to prioritize his life, and he lived those standards. In his later life, golf was his sport of choice. People often mistook him for Lee Trevino. He was good but not quite that good.
Frank began his career as a banker in Atlanta, GA, which then led to his move to Dallas, TX, to complete a large condo development for the bank. While there, he was recruited to fill the position of Financial Vice President for a small electronics company, as well as European Marketing Manager. He returned to his career in real estate development until his retirement.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, John J. Micelle, his mother, Lorraine Menzio Micelle and his beloved younger sister, Joan Micelle Kraft. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy McCasland Micelle, daughter, Gaylyn Fraiche of Santa Monica, CA, son and daughter-in-law, A. Robert (Rob) Fraiche, Jr, and Tracy, of Corpus Christi, TX, daughter, Sara Micelle Edwards and husband Thomas of Nevada; grandchildren, Maddy Fraiche Parisotto and husband, Josh, of Nashville, TN, Mason Fraiche, of Nashville, TN, Sara Elizabeth Howell and husband, Nikos Provydakis, of Heraklion, Crete.
Frank never missed an opportunity to be with his brothers, sisters-in-law, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews. He never failed to entertain everyone with his raucous laugh, his stories and his knowledge of football. He loved to be right, and sometimes he was. He has left a massive void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
Visitation for Frank will be held at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA on Monday, October 12, 2026 from 12:00PM, followed by Words of Remembrance at 1:40PM. A Memorial Mass will follow at 2:00PM, with Military Honors to conclude the service.
