Grayson Cole Powers

Grayson Cole Powers entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 22, 2021 at the age of 16. He was born in New Orleans, LA, on November 2, 2004 and a resident of Mandeville, LA. Grayson was baptized on November 22, 2020 by Pastor Jimmy Owens at St. Timothy United Methodist Church of Mandeville. His brother, Baron, was baptized alongside Grayson, which made the baptism even more special.

As a student at Mandeville High School, Grayson was such a bright, inquisitive young man with an intense drive for knowledge. Much to the chagrin of his parents, he would often take things apart just to see how they worked…an engineer at heart.

Grayson was kind, gentle, and loving, but his most prominent trait was his sense of humor, which made him easy to love. He had a passion for cars, powerlifting, making people laugh, and music. In fact, Grayson could learn a song on an instrument and figure out how to play it on another, interchanging melodies. He was a gift to those that knew him.

Grayson is survived by his mother Vickie M. Lenz Powers; his father John H. Powers, IV (Christy); his brother Baron Lenz Powers; his siblings Emily Arocha (Kyle), Mackenzie Powers (Cameron), Bailey Creed, Sara Carmouche, Logan Carmouche, Liam Carmouche, his niece Ava, his nephew Hudson, his paternal grandparents Jody and Sheila Powers, his aunts Kristina Garrett, Toni Sorsdal (Cory), Coni Toney (Fred), and Debbie Lenz Thionnet (the late Kent).

Grayson was preceded in death by his grandfather Dr. Anthony Louis Lenz, his grandmother Wanda Miller Lenz, his uncle Anthony Louis Lenz, Jr., his uncle Stewart Grant Lenz, and his uncle Kent Thionnet.

A visitation for Grayson will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Dr., Covington, LA, 70433, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
