Jan was married to the love of her life, John W. Theriot, Sr. for 48 years. She was a graduate of the Class of ’68 rom Sacred Heart High School. After attending the University of New Orleans, she worked at the USDA National Finance Center for 26 years. Jan was devoted to her faith in God, and to her Catholic Church. She was the coordinator of Our Lady of Lourdes Adoration Chapel, a Member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry and Prayer Ministry. She and her husband John were both recipients of the St. Louis Medallion in 2019.
Jan lived for her family. Always a smile on her face, nothing brought her more joy than having her family together for Easter egg hunts in the backyard, or Christmas Dinner with the entire family enjoying her oyster dressing and opening gifts.
Jan is survived by her loving husband, John W. Theriot, Sr.; her children John W. Theriot, Jr. (Sarah) and Jennifer Theriot Gilley; and her grandchildren Preston J. Gilley, Bella C. Theriot, and Ellie N. Theriot. She is also survived by her brother Val Bethancourt (Ginger) and her sister Lisa Nagy (Bela), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 400 Westchester Pl, Slidell, LA 70458 on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 12:00 PM with visitation at the church on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services in Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
