

John “Johnny” Edward Dick, 75 of Madisonville passed away on July 4, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 3, 1951 in New Orleans to the late Harold Dick Sr and Edna Dick. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Harold A. Dick Jr, Evelyn Sasso, Francis LeBlanc, and Joeann Moore.
Johnny was born and raised in New Orleans. Then in July of 1969 he listed in the United States Army during the height of the Vietnam War. Johnny proudly served the United States Army until his release in 1975. After his time in the Military, Johnny came back to New Orleans and worked a variety of jobs. The bulk of his career was working at Best Bolt and Fastners Warehouse until his retirement.
Johnny was a member of the VFW Post 3178, where he served as the Commander. He was also a member of the Military Order of Cooties. Johnny was a member of the American Legion.
Johnny enjoyed playing pool, and frequently played on several leagues at Mugzys Bar & Grill. Johnny loved being in the outdoors, from his large outdoor gardens, to going fishing. He loved listening to gospel and country music. Johnny was a loving and devoted brother, uncle, and friend to so many. His legacy lives on in all that knew and loved him.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell (34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, LA).
