Jonathan Gerard Ocmond, a loving soul passed away on Friday May 7th, 2021 at the age of 42. Jonathan was a devoted father, brother, and uncle. Jonathan is survived by his two children, Lucas and Camila Ocmond, parents Nathan and Joan Ocmond, siblings Brandilynn Robichaux (Bryan), Heidi House, Shaun Ocmond (Rachel), Ian Ocmond, Joshua Ocmond, Troy Ocmond (David), Elicia Ocmond, Marcus Ocmond, and Jeremy Ocmond. He is also survived by his cherished nephews, John Joseph “Joe” Robichaux (Ashley), Blaise, Ian Michael and Elijah Ocmond, and nieces Ariel Robichaux, Fiona Ocmond, Lilyana and Shelby Ocmond. Jonathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents John Joseph “J.J” Garrity (Marie Sieta Garrity), paternal grandparents Wilbert Ocmond Sr. (Therese Oubre Ocmond), brother-in- law Christopher House and nephew Christopher Collin House.
He was affectionately known as Johno to close friends and family. He spent most of his life living in Mandeville, Louisiana. Jonathan worked many skilled labored jobs in construction and logistics. He worked hard all of his life and excelled at everything he did. He was proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps, and he will be missed by anyone who was privileged to have met him. He loved his family, enjoyed his friends, and would have given the shirt off his back if he had it to give.
Relatives and close friends are invited to attend services. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Dr. Covington, LA on Friday, May 14th, 2021 at 11:00am. Visitation will be held before services beginning at 10:00 am, with a reception following Mass until 2:00pm. Burial to follow Mass in St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden, Covington, LA.
