Kevin Gene Lacoste, 65, of Abita Springs, LA, entered into eternal rest on February 4, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 20, 1960, in New Orleans to the late Roy Lacoste Sr. and Nancy Abbott Lacoste. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Susan Cavignac; and his grandson, Noah Ledet.
Kevin grew up in the Gentilly Woods neighborhood and later moved to Chalmette while he was in grade school. He graduated from Chalmette High School in 1977. Kevin owned and operated two successful businesses for over 40 years, Lacoste Electronics and Lacoste Property Maintenance. He was an exceptionally hard worker and a true jack of all trades, with a willingness to take on any task, no matter how big or how small. He approached his work with integrity, honesty, and pride in doing things the right way. He was widely respected for his skill, his reliability, and the genuine care he showed for the people he served.
Kevin was a devoted man of God and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He lived out his faith openly, boldly, and without compromise. He shared the Gospel freely and followed God’s leading in every season of life, helping guide many toward a relationship with Christ through both word and example. His love for landscaping and gardening was reflected in the care he poured into his yard, which was a place of quiet peace for him. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to so many. His legacy lives on in all of us, and his memory will hold a special place in our hearts.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Karen Lacoste; children, Angela (Daniel) Ledet, Stevin (Jennifer) Lacoste, Brandon (Paris) Lacoste Sr., and stepson Joshua (Kayla) Gilchrist; grandchildren, Elliana, Isaiah, Finnley, Leo, Milani, London, Brandon Jr., Elijah, and Layla; siblings, Roy (Vivian) Lacoste Jr. and Pamela Lacoste. Kevin also leaves behind to cherish his memory many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Grace Funeral Home. His funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with burial to follow at St. Louis #3 Cemetery in New Orleans.
