Lawrence Mario Ginesi Jr.

November 2, 1940February 5, 2021

On Friday, February 5, 2021, Lawrence Mario Ginesi, Jr. peacefully passed away at the age of 80, surrounded by the love of his children. Larry was born on November 2, 1940, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Rose Brandt Ginesi and Lorenzo Mario Ginesi, Sr. He was the brother of Patricia Ginesi Franz (David, Sr.), both who preceded him in death. His beloved wife, Barbara Toups Ginesi no doubt met him with open arms as he met her in Heaven. As the father of Christopher Lawrence Ginesi (Kieran), Karyn Lynn Ginesi (Andrew Peet), Paul Edward Ginesi, and Steven Thomas Ginesi (Carey), Larry taught his children to work hard and that anything is possible. His mind was gifted with knowledge about any topic one could imagine. Whether he was discussing politics, mathematics, engineering, or something he wanted to invent, he informed, entertained, and enriched those who were blessed to know him. As a lover of classic movies, he could amaze listeners with all of the facts about the actors as well as the production. Larry was a voracious reader of any and everything that passed his way. As technology advanced, he was excited to have an entire library at his fingertips. We certainly will miss our calls and visits where he wanted to know every detail about his grandchildren Mitchell Ginesi, Madelyn Ginesi, Laura Peet Burkhardt (Gary), Brendin Peet, Colin Peet (Sarah), Sophie Peet, Adriyanna Peet, Walker Ginesi, Miles Ginesi, and Raphael Ginesi as well as his niece, Paulette Carey (Brian) and nephew, David Franz, Jr. Our lives are forever changed by our loss and forever influenced because Larry Ginesi was our father. A private memorial will be planned when it is safe for everyone to gather. As a young widower, Larry was deeply affected by the loss of his wife to Leukemia. He would be pleased to know that the fight to eradicate Leukemia would continue. If you are inclined, please donate in their names to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Peace, Love, and Gratitude, Chris, Karyn, Paul, and Steven. “Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.” Rossiter Worthington Raymond, engineer and author. Oh my, I was so sad to see this notice of Larry's passing. I worked for him part-time in the office at Master Industrial Mechanical for a while and many years ago. He was quite a character with a boatload of knowledge to share. My condolences go to all those left who will miss him dearly.
