Lena Lucy Agnelly Norton (LeLe), age 75, of Abita Springs Louisiana passed away on Tuesday August 1, 2023. She was born on July 13, 1948 in New Orleans , LA to Wilfred “Pete” Alphonse Agnelly and Bessie Elizabeth (Ballero) Agnelly.
Lena is survived by her beloved husband George Berle Norton; her son George Berle Norton, Jr. (Stacy); her grandchildren Arabella Elizabeth Norton and Preston Alexander Norton. Lena is also survived by her sisters Jo Ann Agnelly Bocklud (the late William) and Mary Edith Agnelly O’Leary Bealer (Ronald); and her brother John Agnelly Sr. (Henrisue); as well as many in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Lori Elizabeth Norton, her parents, her brothers Peter Carl Agnelly (the late Evelyn) and Robert John Agnelly (Lorraine), and her brother-in-law James O’Leary.
Lena worked for Times Picayune and Ward Lumber Company. She enjoyed going to church, cooking, doing crafts and making rosaries for Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and volunteered at St Joseph Altars for many years. She was the most strong and loving woman who had a heart of gold and would make friends with anyone she met.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Damien Zablocki, at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 12:00 PM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
Burial will follow the services in Hope Mausoleum, 4841 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA under the direction of Grace Funeral Home.
