Louis "Don" Boyne Jr.

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene (Rome) Boyne and their son Cody Boyne. Don is also survived by his son Gregory Boyne, daughter Jennifer Aupied, six grandchildren, sister Carolyn Geist, and niece Katie Portier.

Don was a graduate of University of Southwestern Louisiana where he found his life’s passion for athletics. He worked as an athletic trainer across the country, including at USL, for the NFL Philadelphia Eagles, and at University of New Orleans. After leaving athletics, Don spent a number of years in human resources at Miller, Pepsi, and Brown’s Dairy, later returning to sports through managing ticket sales for Tulane University and the New Orleans Saints. After retirement, he volunteered at Fontainebleau High School. He loved Louisiana cuisine, sports, and his pets. Late in life, he also developed a passion for cycling. More than anything, he loved being in the company of family and friends, sharing his signature gumbo with them all.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced when available.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Louis Donald Boyne may be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center or Northshore Humane Society. Donations may be made on the respective websites for each foundation.
