

Lynette Lombas Hatty, 71 of Covington, LA passed away on August 11, 2025 at her home in Covington surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 4, 1954 in New Orleans to the late Joseph Henry Lombas Sr & Dolores Pizani Lombas. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-Law, John Heurtin Jr.
Lynette was born in New Orleans and raised in Barataria. She attended the University of New Orleans and graduated in 1976. Lynette met Jimmy in 1971 and they were married on November 13, 1976 in Barataria. Together they lived and raised their family in Harvey. Lynette worked for Superior Energy for many years and retired in 2014. She and Jimmy then left Harvey to move to St Louis where their daughter was living at the time. Lynette & Jimmy moved back to Louisiana and settled in Covington in 2019.
Lynette was an active member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at the 4 pm Mass, and she volunteered for many activities sponsored by the Catholic Daughters. She was passionate about the St Joseph Altar at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, which she led for the past 3 years.
Lynette enjoyed cooking and baking, especially her fig cookies, sesame seed cookies, and other Italian cookies during the holidays. Lynette was also an avid gardener. She would always plan and work her front flower garden. She was proud of her backyard vegetable garden and would use the produce to prepare delicious meals for her family and friends. Lynette was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend to so many. She especially loved being called “Ma Mere” by her grandsons. Her legacy lives on in all of us, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lynette is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, James Hatty Jr; children, James Hatty III, and Marcelle Hatty (Brock) Piglia; grandchildren, Noah Piglia, and Elliot Piglia; siblings, Joseph Henry Lombas Jr, Marilyn Lombas Heurtin, Phyllis Lombas (Robert) Muller, Philip (Nadine) Lombas, Leslie (Khristina) Lombas, Laura Lombas (Ken) Hocke, and Michael (Laura) Lombas. Lynette also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church (501 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church (501 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA). Burial will be private at a later date at St Lazarus of Bethany Cemetery.
