Margaret Garnet Menzel Wood

Margaret G. (Menzel) Wood, age 91, a Mandeville Louisiana resident for the past 6 years, resident of Brunswick, Ohio until 2015, returned to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Pontchartrain Health Care in Mandeville, Louisiana. She was born on February 9, 1929 in Painesville, Ohio. Margie devoted herself to her family and friends. She was a giver, even if it meant giving her last loaf of bread. God's influence in her life was ever present and she taught all about Him. She made a huge difference in people's lives and had a profound affect on those she loved. Through trials throughout her life Margie found her strength in God. She could endure all things through Him and showed great witness. Margie was a founding member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Brunswick, Ohio and began The Rays of Sunshine Ministry. Margie was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her children: Dennis Horak (Mary) of Barberton, Ohio, Gary Horak (Ellen) of Mandeville, Louisiana, and Glen Horak (Christine) of Cape Coral, Florida. Margie was blessed with 8 grandchildren: Dennis Horak (Butch), Margaret Horak, Lisa Horak, Gary S. Horak, Ashley Horak, Greg Horak, Kellie Olexa, Tammy Humphries, and many great grandchildren. Preceding Margie in her death was the love of her life Bob Wood of Medina, Ohio, her sister Dorothy E. Rodick of Mentor, Ohio, brothers George Menzel of Pasadena, Maryland, Edwin Menzel and Paul Menzel. A Celebration of Margie's Life will be at GRACE FUNERAL HOME, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, Louisiana, on Saturday afternoon, January 30, 2021 at 2:00. Family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1600 Pearl Road, Brunswick, Ohio 44212.
