Nancy is survived by her beloved children Andrew W. Lee, Adam E. Jakus, and Daniel R. Jakus; and 3 grandchildren Anderson R. Lee, Caroline E. Lee, and Laura E. Lee. She is also survived by her siblings Kathy Hankins, Diana Hartney, and William Lee.
Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved son, Matthew L. Jakus, whom she is now reunited with in Heaven.
Nancy devoted her life to helping others. After growing up in Camp Point, Illinois, she obtained her nursing degree in St. Louis, Missouri and then served as a pediatric intensive care nurse in Houston, Texas. She later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she married Michael Jakus and had four sons: Andrew, Matthew, Adam, and Daniel. Her boys were the light of her life. Nancy returned to school to obtain an MBA and started her own home health consulting business where she performed work across the country. Her ongoing work brought her and the family to settle down in Wheaton, Illinois and then Marietta, Georgia. Nancy would later move to Durham, North Carolina and finally to Mandeville and Covington, Louisiana to be near her grandkids. Nancy loved to travel and try new things; she loved to be with her boys; and she loved her grandchildren immensely. She made an enormous positive impact on her family and those she worked with. She is greatly loved and will be missed.
Memorial contributions in memory of Nancy may be made to The Make-A-Wish Foundation or The Wounded Warriors Project.
