Patricia ("Patsy" or "Pat") spoke fondly of growing up on Prieur St. in New Orleans and attending St. Joseph's Catholic School from kindergarten through 12th grade. She was very involved in school sports and the CYO. After graduation, Patricia continued to play ball in women's leagues. Around the age of 50, Pat and her sister Ellie started running in 5k races. They ran in several Crescent City Classic races and worked their way up to running a marathon! They then branched out to cycling and did many MS Tour for Cure bike rides. The Times Picayune even wrote an article about "The Cycling Sisters" and they continued to bike well into their 70's. Pat enjoyed many other hobbies such as camping, reading, crocheting, beading, and making Rosaries for the troops overseas. Pat and Jim enjoyed traveling and they were avid cruisers.
As a single mother, Patricia worked full time as a secretary and office manager, raised four children, and made sure they were all active and involved. She was a great Drum Corp Mom, Dance Mom, Sports Mom, and an exceptional grandmother. One of Pat's favorite time of year was the Mardi Gras season. Being a true Mardi Gras enthusiast, she believed in catching a few parades a night with ladders and a slew of kids in tow!
Everyone who knew Patricia admired her for her remarkable strength. She was an independent and determined woman with a fun competitive spirit. Her strength and perseverance has greatly influenced her children and grandchildren.
Above all, Patricia loved her family and her faith, and she will forever be in our hearts.
The Fouts family would like to express their immense gratitude for the support and kindness given to them during this time. Special appreciation for Patricia's daughters; Debra, Donna, and daughter-in-law Vicki for the dedicated and loving care they showed to their mother. The family wishes to express their thanks to Egan Hospice for their exceptional service to Ms. Patricia. They would also like to express their gratitude to Ms. Joan Fuselier, her eucharistic minister.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Patricia may be made to the Salvation Army or Samaritan's Purse to assist those in need during the Texas Flood Tragedy.
