He enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1991 and after he mustered out of active duty, he served in the reserves. Randy was proud of his service and was active in Marine veteran groups. He adhered to the timeless Marine Corps credo of Once a Marine, Always a Marine. He co-founded Northshore Marines, a group of Marine Corps veterans who gather on the Marine Corps birthday (November 10th) each year and convene casual events for Marines and their families throughout the year. Randy would do anything to help a Marine in need.

He was a loyal and compassionate fellow who was always helpful to anyone in need. When you were in Randy’s home, you were never a stranger; he treated everyone as close family.
Randy was a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers football and baseball teams. One of his beloved dogs, a labrador retriever, was named Deuce, after Saints running back Deuce McAllister.
