Ronald Francis Springer, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, was born in New Orleans on June 16, 1947. A lifelong New Orleanian at heart, Ronald was born and raised in the city he loved. He was a cradle Catholic, attended St. Francis of Assisi, and graduated from Alcee Fortier High School.
Ronald devoted 38 years of his life to the New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board, where he built a long and dedicated career.
Those who knew Ronald will remember him not only for his generous heart, but for his big personality and infectious laugh. He had a way of filling a room with his presence and was often the life of the party. Above all, Ronald loved his family deeply and cherished the time he spent with them.
Ronald had a lifelong passion for automobiles, especially old cars. He loved working on them, bringing them back to life, and proudly taking them to car shows. He also enjoyed collecting guns, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and the things that interested him throughout his life.
Ronald passed away at his home in Ponchatoula on September 14, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Edward Springer and Dorothy Delia Montz, and his beloved son, Ronald Francis Springer Jr.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Betty Dupuis Springer; his wonderful daughter, Betty Springer Nepveux (Clayton); his cherished grandchildren, Ronald Springer III (Jackie), Sarah Nepveux Palermo (Nick), Noah Nepveux, and Jonah Nepveux; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Ronald Francis Springer IV and Harold Glenn Springer.
Ronald leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, stories, and love. His family will forever remember his larger-than-life personality, his generous heart, his infectious laugh, and the joy he brought into their lives. He was a man who loved deeply, laughed loudly, and made an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he is deeply missed, his love and memory will live on through the family he cherished so dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services for Ronald Springer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponchatoula on Monday, September 21, 2026.
