It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sharon after a 2 year hard fought battle against cancer. Sharon was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, beloved Mom, grandmother and great grandmother whose unconditional love and spirit brought joy to everyone. She was a longtime resident of Belle Chasse, LA before moving to Covington in 2017 to be nearer to her children and grandchildren.
Sharon was born on November 29th, 1952, in New Orleans to Ernest F. Burmaster, Jr. and Anna Mae Theriot Burmaster.
All she wanted was to be a wife and mother. She devoted herself to her family. Everything they have accomplished and achieved in their lives is a tribute to all her dedication and never-ending love for them. Her adult children are reminded every day of the love and sacrifices she made. She did this without wanting recognition and acknowledgement.
Spending time with her retired husband; going for walks around their neighborhood, going out to eat, spending the day at casinos in Biloxi, and enjoying time relaxing in her home in Covington close to her children and grandchildren. She was happiest on yearly Disney World vacations enjoying shopping and eating Dole Whip. She loved to shop and find treasures to bring back to spoil her grandkids. Loving and spoiling her grandkids and recent great grandkids brought her tremendous pride and joy.
Sharon was preceded in death by her grandparents Ernest and Theresa K. Burmaster, August and Florence T. Theriot; her parents Ernest F. Burmaster, Jr. and Anna Mae T. Burmaster; Karen Ann Burmaster (sister), Ronald C. Burmaster (brother) and Pat Burmaster (nephew).
Sharon is survived by her husband of 55+ years James Landry, Jr. Her children are Stephanie Rivet (son-in-law Brian) and Ronnie Landry (daughter-in-law Heather). Her grandchildren Alexis Kidwell (Isaiah), Jordan Landry and Brandon Landry. Her great grandchildren Steven Kidwell and Eleanor Kidwell. Her siblings; A.J. Burmaster (Liz), Ernest "Sonny" Burmaster, Mel Burmaster (sister-in-law) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services are in the care of Grace Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held for Sharon at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Belle Chasse, LA.
