

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Art Crane, 82, of Craig, CO. Art lost his battle with cancer on January 18, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to many. Art came to Craig in 1992. He was partners with Willie Georgiou in Georgiou Contracting until Willie’s passing in 2005. Art and his wife Betty operated Colorado’s Mountain West Outfitting Co. until his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Cathy Crane of Las Vegas, NV; his son Brian Crane of Dimmit, TX; two sisters Kay Williams of Henderson, NV and Patsy Haffner of Boise, ID. He is survived by his wife Betty Hinds Crane of Craig, his beloved daughter Sharilynn Young of Oroville, CA; his granddaughter Jennifer Crane of Sutter, CA and his great-grandson Tyler Crane Womack (Frannie) of Cabot, AR; his sister June Wilkinson of Yuba City, CA and one brother Dee Crane; several nieces and nephews. Art and Betty were married right after High School in Yuba City, CA. They had been married 64 years. In the late 80s he took a traveling job for American Wood Dryers of Portland, OR. They spent 4 years traveling the United States. Making life an adventure and a journey. They lived in Oregon until Bettys’ doctor told her she had to get out of the Willamette Valley, due to allergies. They settled on Craig, CO as they had been hunting here since their 25th wedding anniversary. Art did not want any services, he said just remember him with joy and laughter as that is how he wanted to remember you.
