Charles W. Crouse passed away at Memorial Hospital in Craig CO. Chuck, better known to the family as “Papa or Grandpa”, was born to Jim Crouse and Gwen Shaffer in Minden, Nebraska. Chuck was united in marriage to Terry Crouse on February 18, 1995 and shared 25 wonderful years of marriage. Sharing time with his family was his favorite pastime but he also enjoyed rock hunting, gardening, woodworking, fishing and boating, especially with his grandchildren. Chuck was a member of Operating Engineers Local #9 and came to Craig in 1983 to work at Trapper Mine. In 2001 he was disabled in a mining accident and enjoyed his remaining years devoted to being Papa. Chuck was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Chuck is survived by his loving wife Terry, his mom Gwen, daughters Tammy Crouse, Stacey Schad and husband Marty, Melissa Tarr and husband Tony, Joy Padilla and husband Juan, grandchildren Mandi Bailey and husband Brett, Jordyn Kincaid and Kris Enger, Steffani Gerber and John Isaacs, Tara Gerber, Dylan Kincaid and Courtney Karr, Brianna Padilla, Darin Padilla, Katie Hunter and TJ Tarr, great grandchildren Nick, Alahna and Zoei Bailey, brother Vern Crouse and wife Lee, sister Sandi Ahnsted and husband Brett, sisters in law Yvonne Turner and Janet Bacon and numerous nieces and nephews. As long as we are living Papa will forever be in our memories. A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 15, 2020, at The Journey at First Baptist Church in Craig. Interment will follow at Craig Cemetery.
