

Born on November 9, 1947, in Craig, Colorado, to Joe and Mary Trujillo. He spent many years working for Colowyo Coal as a highway truck driver. Prior to his career at Colowyo he was a master brick layer and enjoyed showing off his handiwork.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Delbert took great pride in introducing everyone to his passion. He will be remembered by his smile, stubbornness and many MANY hunting and fishing stories.
Above all else, he loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Christine. Children Christi Trujillo (Joey Guseman), Demetrius (Kori) Trujillo, Megan (Zach) Peters and Tucker Trujillo. 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Siblings, Bertha, Dean, Kelly (Merry) JoAnn and Clyde (Sue) and sister in law Darla, as well as many nieces, nephews and cherished family friends.
He was preceded in death, by an infant son Kelly, his parents, brothers George and Sam (Georgia).
The family would like to acknowledge and thank Northwest Colorado Health and Hospice for their incredible kindness and care throughout his journey.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2026, at The Journey at First Baptist Church in Craig. Interment will follow at Craig Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Delbert's memory to one of the following organizations: Love Inc. or Inter-Faith Food Bank both in care of Grant Mortuary, 621 Yampa Ave., Craig, Colorado 81625.
