Don W. Gray was born on October 11, 1932 at his Grandma Miller’s home in Colorado Springs, CO to his parents, Howard and Marie Gray of Tructon, Colorado. He was welcomed home by his sister, Betty (Norvan) Eaks. Don spent his life on the prairie in Eastern Colorado where he farmed and ranched. He married Margaret Polders, his wife of 58 years, in 1951 and they lived and raised their five children in the Rush community. They lived there until they relocated to Craig in 2007.
Don, being young at heart, was always ready for a game of cards or ping pong, playing ball or a round of hopscotch with his kids and grandkids. Hunting and camping were favorite pastimes, especially with family. He enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee and attending His kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events. And he always enjoyed a good joke or prank!
Don passed away on August 4, 2020 at his home north of Craig surrounded by his family. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father, wife Margaret, daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Mike Jackson, and grandson Jesse Gray. He is survived by his children LuAnne (Keith) Antonson of Fruita, CO, Tom (Brenda) Gray of Craig, CO, Jesse (Karen) Gray of Craig, CO, Kris (Jason) Badje of Hay Springs, NE, and grandchildren Becky (Kurt) Behrens, Brad (Tina) Knisley, Brenda (Mike) Chesney, Blu Gray, Heather Gray, Amanda (Joe) Krakker, Megan (Jared) Lowther, Deidra (Brent) Chamberlain, Reid (Sarah) Badje, Seth (Jess) Badje, Eli (Kate) Badje, Tanna Badje, Jessi Badje, twenty-two great grandchildren, and special friend Evelyn Pomeroy.
