Elizabeth Rose Casedy

Elizabeth Rose Casedy, known to those who loved her as Liz, passed away on July 26, 2026, at the age of 32. Born on February 19, 1994, in Denver, Colorado, Liz had been living in Craig, Colorado, a community she was proud to call home.

Liz was the kind of person who could light up a room without even trying. Funny, gregarious, and fiercely independent, she had a way of drawing people in and making them feel like they mattered. She cared deeply, sometimes ferociously, about the people in her life, and those who knew her understood that her love was not the quiet kind. It was big, bold, and unmistakable.

One of the proudest moments of Liz's life was becoming a mother to her son, Owen James Purcell. He was her heart walking outside her body, and she carried that joy with her every day. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Prudence Casedy, a loss that shaped her profoundly.

Liz found purpose and community through her work at the Yampa Valley Regional Airport, where she built lasting friendships and discovered one of her greatest passions: travel. She loved exploring new places and meeting new people, and her job gave her the opportunity to see corners of the country she might never have visited otherwise. Whether it was a bustling city or a quiet small town, Liz approached every destination with curiosity and enthusiasm. New places and new faces were her fuel.

Liz is survived by her partner, Gwen Purcell; her son, Owen James Purcell; her step-daughter, Layla Purcell; her father, Larry Isbell; her mother, Christy Jones; her brothers, Joey Isbell and Cody Boehler; her sisters, Rachael Isbell and Kyla Boehler; her stepmother, RuthAnne Isbell; her grandparents, Wendy and Curtis Dickey, Betty Jones, David Jones, Bryan and Vickie Jones, and Dennis Wagner; her uncles, Devin Brown and Mark Jones; her aunt, Kandy Wagner; and her cousins, Colton Wagner, Alyssa Wagner, and Danny Brown, along with many other family members and friends whose lives she touched.

In addition to her daughter Prudence, Liz was preceded in death by her brother, Lisle Warren Isbell; her grandparents, Larry Warren Isbell and Donna Isbell; and her uncle, Lisle Wayne Isbell.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Loudy Simpson Park in Craig, Colorado. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Liz to come together and remember her the way she lived, with laughter, warmth, and a whole lot of heart.

You were ready to move on, but we were not. Forever in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Elizabeth's memory to an LGBTQ+ organization benefiting Moffat or Routt County.
