

George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant (MSgt) after a long and honorable military career. His service included duty during the Vietnam War, as well as overseas assignments in Thailand. Throughout his career, he earned numerous commendations, including the Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and the Air Force Achievement Medal, reflecting his dedication and commitment to service.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Averill Duffy.
He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Hazeghazam (the late Shawn Hazeghazam); stepdaughter, Teresa Hurst (Kendal Hurst); stepson, Shane Lucas Burke (Lana Lucas Burke); and stepson, Tony Burke (Karen Burke), along with his many beloved grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings, Andrew Duffy and family, Mary Ann Waclawik and family, and Sheila Kelment and family. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Peggy Hutchinson, Michael Duffy, and Gerald Duffy.
George will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to his family and his country.
Burial with full military honors will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2026, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.
