Born on February 24, 1941, in Nogal, New Mexico, to Joel Wesley Bivens and Lillie Bell May Bivens, Janie graduated from high school in Lordsburg, New Mexico, and later attended beauty school in Las Cruces.
Janie was a devoted ranch wife whose greatest joy was caring for her family. She also worked as a waitress and managed a western store in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She loved gardening, canning, and making sure everyone around her was cared for.
She shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Frank Camilletti. Together they raised their family: Billie Vreeman, Wesley Norvel, Penny Turon, and Ed Camilletti.
Janie’s greatest legacy was the love she gave to others. She was always there to help with school projects, 4-H and fair activities, or simply to offer advice and encouragement. Her kitchen was always full, and everyone who walked through her door was welcomed with a warm meal and a kind heart.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Camilletti; her children, Billie Vreeman, Wesley Norvel, Penny Turon, and Ed Camilletti; grandchildren Joel, Joey, Journey, Jewel, Rudy, Nikki, Lisa, Frank, and Kevin, Deanna, Melissa; and great-grandchildren Alexis, Angelina, Jag, Levi, Jesse, Gracelynn, Hallie, Harper, Heidi, Poem, Avery, Dominic, Derek, Gabriella, Jesse, and Logan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Margaret Smith; and her brother, Bobby Bivens.
A celebration of Janie’s life will be held Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at the Hayden Community Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice in Craig in Janie’s memory.
