Lawrence Don Moore

Larry was born on July 8, 1941, in San Diego, CA. He attended school in Hayden, CO, graduating from Hayden High School in 1961. He attended Adams State University in Alamosa, CO.

Larry lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and love for his family and friends. From a young age, he operated farm equipment on the family farm north of Hayden and developed a love of carpentry from his father. Together, they built many homes in Hayden and partnered in a camper manufacturing business. After his father’s passing, Larry continued building homes in Hayden and Steamboat Springs. Larry also worked in area coal mines, where he became known for his ability to operate nearly any piece of equipment and build or repair most anything. He earned a master electrician and a welding certification. Larry was part of the Mine Rescue Team.

Larry loved flying his plane taking trips all over the United States and Mexico. He learned to scuba drive and took several trips to Honduras. It was there where he fell in love with his wife Toni. She moved to the United States to become his partner.

Larry is survived by his wife Maria Antonia (Toni) Moore, his sons Shane (Robin) Moore of Craig, CO, and Jacob (Deborah Aleksa(Deb)) Moore of Denver, CO, his daughters Martha Zimmerman and Katie (Brendan) Thornton both of Hayden, CO, his sisters Nancy (Gene) Reinbold of Grand Junction, CO, and Phyllis Moore (Rusty Nay) of Hayden, CO. He is survived by five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother Ed and Laura Moore, brother Richard Moore, nephew Randy Moore, and nieces Jennifer Holmlund and Cynthia Kline.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Hayden Congregation Church with interment in the Hayden Cemetery to follow.

Though deeply missed, Larry's friendship, wisdom, and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
