When I think of Uncle Otis I can’t help but think of Aunt Betty. They seemed perfect together. Growing up in Craig and spending time with them and my cousins, Alan, Gary, and Lynn, was a great childhood I’ll always treasure. Uncle Otis had the best smile and laugh. He will be missed.

My wish would be our grandchildren could have known Otis. The realization of a different day and age Otis lived - in western CO with homesteader families - made a people I respect. I love you dearly, my dear brother, and your family.

I always enjoyed my times of hunting and sitting around camp with Mr. Otis (and family)! He was one of the best story tellers I've ever heard as he had such a way with words. I know he will be greatly missed by so many. Praying for Alan and family.

I have heard it said that death is like passing from one room to another. Well, another cousin has passed into that other room and soon our families will be joined together with Otis, Betty, Uncle Wayne, and Aunt Iris. I remember my Mom, Verniece Self, telling me that she taught Otis as a small boy in Sunday School. I also recall Otis as a teenager with another cousin, Earl, making dandelion wine one summer. It made them ill. At the time I thought it was something to giggle about. In his later years, I remember Otis as being very patriotic. May the peace that passes all understanding be with all who loved Otis.

It was my honor to have met Otis some 40 years ago. What a character! Such stories and tales! We were competitors, amigos, Realtors for 40 years. What a nice man! I (as all of us) will miss him. Our sympathy to the family.

I met Otis many years ago as a fellow member of Realtors Land Institute. We often sat together. Being of the same generation he and I were about equally “technically challenged”.
We had some early day computer classes at RLI. The instructor would be on page 10 while Otis and I were still searching for the “ON” button. Lots of laughs. Really miss Otis...one of the good guys !! Prayers for his family.

My family and I were so very sorry to hear of Otis’s passing. We have so many awesome memories of Otis when we lived on Hwy 394. Otis and Betty were always so quick to give us a hand and advice. I don’t believe I ever seen Otis that he didn’t go out of his way to say Hi — City Market was our most common venue!! God Bless You Otis!!!
