Rodney Dean Willems

He graduated from Moffat County High School with the class of 1973.

Rod Married the love of his life, Cindy, in 1975, and they recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Together, they built a life filled with family, love, and cherished memories.

Rod graduated from Denver Automotive and Diesel College in Denver, Colorado. He returned to Craig and worked for Willems Implement for twenty plus years. He farmed with Val McFarland for a number of years. Rod and Cindy purchased a farm in Morrill, Nebraska in 1995 where he raised corn and alfalfa. His main hobby was woodworking. Many family members have been recipients of one or more of his wood projects.

Rod is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Willems; his son, Doug (Jennifer) Willems; and his grandchildren, Tess (Doug) Holland, Samantha Willems, and Mary Willems. He is also survived by his mother, Wilma Willems; brothers, Steffen (Laura) Willems and Bryon Willems; sister, Sandra Chamberlain; and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Willems, and his grandparents.

Rod will be remembered and deeply missed by his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at The Journey at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Craig Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Moffat County Cancer Society in honor of Rod Willems in care of Grant Mortuary, 621 Yampa Avenue, Craig, Colorado 81625.
