

Vivian Marie Grinolds passed away on April 18, 2022 in Craig, Colorado at the age of 86. Vivian was born in Palermo, North Dakota to Harold and Asthri Ostdahl. Vivian married Douglas Grinolds on November 1, 1953 and lived in North Dakota until 1973, when they moved to Wyoming for one year. They lived in Craig, Colorado until Doug’s passing in 2014. Vivian then moved to Grand Junction, Colorado until 2019 and returned to Craig where she lived until her passing.
Vivian was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was known for her amazing baking skills and loved to shower everyone with homemade food and baked goods. Doug and Vivian loved the summers when they would race horses all over the country, even in Canada.
Vivian is survived by her sons: Larry (Glendy) of Lehi, Utah, Rodney (Gerl) of Cody, Wyoming, Kelly (Regina) of Craig, Colorado, Keith (Mindy) of Loma, Colorado, her daughter, Cindy (Brett) of Grand Junction, Colorado, 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, her sisters-in-law: Edna Ostdahl & Gladys Grinolds of Stanley, North Dakota, Marge Ostdahl of Minot, N.D., and several nieces and nephews.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Asthri Ostdahl, husband, Doug, son, Gary, brothers: Alvin, Clarence, Lawrence, Allen, Leonard and sisters: Ruth, Mildred, Nellie, Verna, Avis and Lillian and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 24th in Craig, Colorado at St. Mark’s Church. A second service will be held on Saturday, May 7th at 11:00 in Palermo, North Dakota.
Memorial donations may be made to Northwest Colorado Health and Hospice in care of Grant Mortuary.
