

Born August 29, 1939 in Springfield to Chester Lee and Lillian Alberta (Kelley) Fields, he married Marilyn Abraham on February 22, 1974 in Peoria. She died May 2, 2001 in Creve Coeur. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Edith Mitchell.
Surviving are one daughter, Lillian A. “Lilli” (Andrew) Seaton of Germantown Hills and one grandson, August “Augie” Fields Seaton of Germantown Hills.
He was a United States Navy veteran.
Clifford worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 11 years in Building LL as a window man in the tool crib. He then worked for the Unites States Postal Service as a rural letter carrier on rural route 5 in East Peoria, retiring on January 3, 2007 with 36 years of service. He was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association.
Clifford was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army Church. He was a current member of Elm Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.
Clifford loved reading his bible and he tried to live a life pleasing to Jesus Christ. He loved Sunday lunches with his daughter and grandson. He enjoyed breakfast and dinners with his friends and traveling the United States.
His private visitation and funeral service will be Tuesday December 22, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. The Pastor Kenneth TerBush will officiate.
Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Navy.
