Dawn Marie Burkiett

She was born October 20, 1961 in Peoria to Laurence and Judith (Hopper) Burkiett. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Mark Burkiett and a infant brother, Arlen Burkiett.

Surviving are one daughter, Brianna (Chris) Cougill of Mahomet and one sister, Pamela (Scott Friend) Burkiett of Pekin.

Dawn worked for Creve Coeur School District 76 at Parkview Middle School in the cafeteria for ten-plus years, last working February 28, 2025.

She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her cat, Baby Kitty. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her mother and daughter, who were best of friends.

Her funeral will be at noon Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Erin Totten-Jones will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview.
