

Born June 27, 1943 in Decatur to Carl Eugene and Virginia (Benton) Harvey, she married Larry Eugene Massie on March 16, 1960. He died September 14, 2018 in Creve Coeur. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are three daughters, Doreen Carpenter, Karen Massie and Corine (Mike) Wilson, all of Creve Coeur; one son, Larry (Rita) Massie of Clarksville, Tennessee; 23 grandchildren, Cecilia (Josh) Fandel, Jeremy (Debbie) Carpenter, Cindy Pounds, Larissa (Stacy) Johnson, Tiffany (Ryan) Richardson, Kylie (Chris) Henricks, Mia Fisher, John (Myriah) Carpenter, Josh ( Mindy) Carpenter, Michael (Taylor) Massie, Paul (Kris) Siens, Shanen Pitzer, MacKenzie Fisher and Maddison Fisher and 29 great-grandchildren.
Dora had owned and operated Creve Coeur Hobby Shop beginning in 1978. She later worked at Nyman’s in Creve Coeur in the deli and then worked at Bergner’s in Pekin retiring in 1994.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Dora enjoyed crafting and fishing. Her greatest passion was her family.
Dora was a member of First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur, where she served as secretary, director of Kings Kids and Awana Midweek Kids Program and was a Sunday school teacher. She also was a Girl Scout Leader.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur. Pastor David Lynn will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday evening at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning at the church. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
