Jacqueline Rae Pisano

Born February 9, 1956 in Peoria to Elliott “Jack” and Lois (Knott) Johnson, she married Thomas Joseph Pisano on November 20, 1977 in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Garin (Courtney) Pisano of Washington; one daughter, Jennifer (Jon) Ferguson of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jacob, Tyson and Marissa; one sister, Linda (Jay) Dexter of rural Pekin; one sister-in-law, Kathy Pisano of East Peoria; two brothers-in-law, Chris (Brenda) Pisano of East Peoria and Michael (Cheryl) Pisano of Belleview, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gary Johnson.

Jackie was a graduate of Dunlap High School.

Jackie loved children and had a private daycare in her home for many years. She also worked at Metamora Fields for 8 years as a custodian. Jackie received Jesus as her personal savior at a young age and rededicated her life to Him as a young adult. Parkinson’s disease may have slowed down her body but not her sweet spirit. Throughout her life she loved sharing Jesus and was passionate about teaching children about Him. Her grandchildren were precious to her and each time they visited they loved having Grama Jackie read devotions and pray with them. Other children all knew her as Miss Jackie, and they could always count on a loving smile and a warm hug from her as she taught them about the love of Jesus. Jackie had recently published a book entitled “Gary’s Time for Heaven” which was aimed at helping children deal with the death of a loved one. Church was her happy place. She served as a youth leader for more than 25 years and wholeheartedly supported her husband in pastoral ministry at Christ Bible Church for the past 31 years.

She and her family enjoyed attending Sky Lodge Christian Camp in Montello, Wisconsin as a family for 47 years. She and Tom affectionately nicknamed each other “bud” because they were each other’s best friend since they met over 50 years ago. This past year Jackie became involved with the Rock Steady Boxing group in Eureka for persons with Parkinson’s and she quickly came to love that amazing group of people. Jackie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved being outside enjoying the warm sunshine and the singing of the birds. She had quite a knack at various landscaping projects. Her full-time job, though, was keeping her husband in line; she was quite skilled at that. In her spare time, Jackie was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs.

Her family would like to extend a special thanks to the amazing staff on Forest Park 3 at OSF and also the incredible staff at the Owens Hospice Home. Your compassionate, tender care of our precious Jackie will never be forgotten.

Jackie’s memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Christ Bible Church in Creve Coeur. Rev. Dr. Jon Ferguson, her son-in-law, will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Cremation has been accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
