James L. Beck

Born November 29, 1933 in Austin, Minnesota to Oscar and Georgiana (Wilson) Beck, he married Norma Jane Terwilliger on June 2, 1958 in Humbolt, Iowa. She died September 7, 2015 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Timothy Beck and William Beck and one sister.

Surviving are three daughters, Veronica (James) Booth of East Peoria, Lynnette “Lynn” Beck of East Peoria, Angelina “Angie” (Bill) Boyles of East Peoria; one son, Michael Beck of Creve Coeur; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Robert (Tamara) Beck of Austin, Texas.

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Jim was retired from Caterpillar, Inc.

His passions were fishing, target shooting and archery. He also enjoyed golfing.

He was a member of the Philadelphia Church of God.

Private inurnment will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. There will be no visitation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
