Laura Collins Ganda

Born December 24, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a daughter of Richard Foulke and Kathryn Ann (Ehlert) Collins. Her parents preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by one infant son, John Ganda.

Surviving are one daughter, Jennifer Ganda of East Peoria; one brother, Richard (Connie) Collins of Chillicothe; one sister, Mary (Frank) Wolff of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews.

Laura was a graduate of Bradley University in Peoria.

For many years, Laura served as manager of the jewelry department at Famous Barr in Peoria, later retiring from Macy’s.

Outside of work, Laura found joy in gardening, taking pleasure in growing hostas and nurturing beauty.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Her graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2026 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Lacon. Father Michael Pica will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
