Leslie Mae Mayfield

Born December 4, 1950 in Petersburg, Virginia to Lester and Georgie Mae (Banty) Cabell, she married Jon Eric Mayfield on October 8, 1971 in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Michael Eric Mayfield of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Terrie (Steve) Maupin of Washington, Illinois; her grand-puppies and grand-kitties; one sister, Sara (Larry) Roberts of Enid, Oklahoma and one brother, Lester Cabell, Jr. of Creve Coeur.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

A homemaker, Mae enjoyed playing bingo, slot machines and gardening. She had a genuine love for animals and also enjoyed traveling and fishing in her early years.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Father Johnathan Steffen will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
