Martha L Huschen

Born June 3, 1927 in Ellendale, Tennessee to William F. and Hattie Belle (Owen) Bennett, she married Elmer E. Huschen on July 19, 1969 in Creve Coeur. He died December 10, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brother and two sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Diane M. (Bob) Jorgensen of East Peoria and Donna R. Woosley of Spring Hill, Florida two grandchildren, Beth (Ryan) Johnson and Mike (Kara) Jorgensen; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Glen Bennett of Copperopolis, California, Robert (Lynn) Bennett of Santa Rosa, California and Larry Bennett of Phoenix, Arizona; two nieces, Cathy (Joe) McAllister and Becky Westhafer and one nephew, Fred Collom.

A homemaker, Martha operated a daycare out of her home for 40 years. She lastly spent three years working in the lunchroom and was the playground supervisor for LaSalle Elementary School in Creve Coeur.

A loving and caring mother and grandmother, Martha loved to garden and take care of children.

Martha was a former member of First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur.

A gathering celebrating Martha’s life will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
