

Born June 21, 1928 in Beardstown to Clem and Vivian (Fernandes) Haxton, she married William E. Daniel August 1, 1948 in Jacksonville. He died September 25, 2009.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane (Charles) Hall of East Peoria and Jennie Reeves of Creve Coeur; one son, Bill (GayLynn) Daniel of Crystal Lake; eight grandchildren, Dan Hall of Creve Coeur, Carla (Dusty) Rose of Metamora, Bill Daniel of Chicago, Bob (Jen) Daniel of Wausau, Wisconsin, Ian Daniel of Crystal Lake, Emily (Tim) Jans of Vernon Hills, Caitlin Reeves of Washington and Travis Reeves of Creve Coeur and three great-grandchildren, Trent Rich, Cole Rich and Daniella Rich, all of Metamora.
She was preceded by her parents; five siblings; one son-in-law, Ryan Reeves and two grandchildren, Christine Hall and Trevor Reeves.
Mary worked at John P. Pearl Insurance in Peoria Heights as an administrative assistant for over 25 years.
She loved spending time with her family and planning family events. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and jigsaw puzzles.
Mary volunteered with Creve Coeur School District 76 and was active with both Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of East Peoria for 65 years. She enjoyed volunteering and helping out whenever possible.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2023 at East Peoria First United Methodist Church. Rev. Krista Price will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. An additional visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
