He was born November 24, 1953, in Peoria to Joseph W. Stever and Dorothy (Chappell) Thomas. His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are two children, Joseph Stever of Creve Coeur and Jennie Stever Hancock of Pekin and four grandchildren, Bethany Stever of Danville, J.J. Stever of Chenoa, Ashlyn Hancock of Pekin and Flynn Hancock of Pekin.
Michael worked as an Assembler at Caterpillar, Inc., retiring in 2004.
He was very outgoing and loved socializing, always making new friends. He loved spending time with his son and watching NASCAR.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
