She was born July 17, 1974 in Peoria to James “Jim” Louis and Alpha Marie (Hosbrough) Blumenstock.
Surviving are her parents of Creve Coeur; one daughter, Jamie Lynn Hayes of Pekin; one son, Samuel “Ryan” Hayes of Creve Coeur; one grandson, Miles Theodore Hayes of Pekin and one brother, Scott D. (Shelly) Barnett of Peoria.
A homemaker, Nel enjoyed reading from her Bible, sketching, writing and watching funny videos. She also loved spending time with her family.
Nel was a member of the Bayview Baptist Church in Washington.
Her memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Brother Bedwell will officiate. There will be no visitation.
